In November 2025, The Criterion Collection showcases three films that center on youth culture from three very different eras, cultures and perspectives. All of the films brought the voices of youth to the screen with wit and dramatic flair, although from three very different viewpoints.
On November 4, 2025, John Hughes’ disarmingly candid teen comedy The Breakfast Club – which centers on five students from different social cliques that report to a not-so-typical 1980’s Saturday high school detention – is being released on Blu-ray and 4K UHD. Then, on November 11, 2025, Reginald Hudlin’s imaginative music comedy House Party lands on Blu-ray and 4K UHD. House Party stars Christopher Reid and Christopher Martin, better known as hip hop duo Kid n’ Play, along with Robin Harris, Martin Lawrence, Tisha Campbell, George Clinton, Ellaraino, and members of the band Full Force. By the end of this hilarious 1990 gem, you’ll be desperate for the time when the most important issue you had was how to get to your best friend’s party, without your parents finding out.
Finally, on November 18, 2025, Hell’s Angels, the landmark Howard Hughes aviation epic, exhilarating for its daredevil aerial sequences and its nervy pre-Code punch, is released on Blu-ray and 4K UHD. The film centers on a pair of British brothers, who leave Oxford in order to join the Royal Flying Corps at the beginning of World War I. Ray loves a beauty named Helen (played by Jean Harlow in her bombshell breakthrough), who’s having an affair with Monte.
