Themed attractions developer Advent Allen Entertainment has announced a partnership with Simtec Systems GmbH, one of the world’s leading design and engineering companies, for the engineering and manufacturing of the Top Gun thrill ride attraction in Las Vegas. Based on Paramount Pictures’ iconic 1986 blockbuster film Top Gun, along with the equally successful 2022 sequel Top Gun: Maverick, the Top Gun attraction seeks to become one of the most innovative, immersive and pulse-pounding experiences ever created in themed entertainment.
Set to debut in 2028 on the Las Vegas Strip, Top Gun Las Vegas is said to redefine the concept of location-based entertainment. The multi-level destination features the Hard Deck restaurant & bar and multiple interactive zones, along with a high-performance flight-themed thrill ride fusing cinematic storytelling, precision motion technology, and immersive media that rivals the intensity of the movies themselves.
While key elements remain under wraps, anticipation for the Advent Allen–Simtec paring is already spreading across the global entertainment and engineering communities. Advent Allen Entertainment is crafting an attraction that merges Hollywood storytelling, precision technology, and emotional intensity to deliver an unforgettable adventure for visitors. The company is also evaluating additional Top Gun locations, including a potential flagship destination in Orlando, Florida.
The 1986 film Top Gun is directed by Tony Scott. The movie centers on The Top Gun Naval Fighter Weapons School, where the best of the best train to refine their elite flying skills. When hotshot fighter pilot Maverick (Tom Cruise) is sent to the school, his reckless attitude and cocky demeanor put him at odds with the other pilots, especially the cool and collected Iceman (Val Kilmer).
Directed by Joseph Kosinski, the sequel Top Gun: Maverick involves Maverick confronting his past while training a group of younger Top Gun graduates, including the son of his deceased best friend, for a dangerous mission.
