Theaters shown include The Amsterdam Theatre screening The Ten Commandments, The Liberty Theatre screening Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo, and The Victory Theatre screening Ten Tall Men, along with The Anco and Apollo Theatres. A neon sign for Hubert’s Museum, the old Times Square freak show, is also in the background, as well as Modell’s Sporting Goods and other theaters screening adult and grindhouse movies.
Originally released in 1944, Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo takes place in the wake of Pearl Harbor, centering on a young lieutenant who leaves his expectant wife to volunteer for a secret bombing mission in Japan. The film stars Spencer Tracy, Van Johnson and Robert Walker.
Ten Tall Men was originally released in 1951 and takes place during a war between the French Foreign Legion’s outpost of Tarfa anf Moroccan tribes lead by Khalif Hussein. The film stars Burt Lancaster, Jody Lawrance and Gilbert Roland.
The 1956 Cecil B. DeMille Biblical epic The Ten Commandments stars Charlton Heston, Yul Brynner and Anne Baxter and tells the story of Moses.
