Legendary customizer Alan Mann created the iconic Chitty Chitty Bang Bang vehicle exclusively for the movie. Designed by Rowland Emmett, six different cars were built at the Alan Mann racing workshop in 1967. Directed by Ken Hughes and co-written by Hughes, Roald Dahl and Richard Maibaum, based on Ian Fleming’s novel, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang stars Dick Van Dyke, Sally Ann Howes, Lionel Jeffries, Gert Fröbe, Anna Quayle, Benny Hill, James Robertson Justice, Robert Helpmann and Heather Ripley.
