Cinematic Autos Print Series: 1961 Ferrari 250 GT Spyder California from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
Visit the official Cinematic Autos website at cinematicautos.com.
In the film, Cameron’s father’s Ferrari wasn’t an actual Ferrari, it was a modified MG Sports Car. Because it was too expensive to abuse and wreck an actual Ferrari, three replicas were made for the movie. Each replica had an MG chassis with a custom-made fiberglass body. Written and directed by John Hughes, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off stars Matthew Broderick, Alan Ruck, Mia Sara, Jeffrey Jones, Jennifer Grey, Cindy Pickett, Lyman Ward, Edie McClurg, Charlie Sheen, Ben Stein, Del Close, Virginia Capers, Richard Edson, Larry Flash Jenkins, Kristy Swanson and Louie Anderson.
Cinematic Autos is a celebration of the cars, trucks and motorcycles featured in our favorite cult movies and television shows.
