This stunning 1955 photo of Marla English features the actress sitting in front of a movie poster for her own film Desert Sands, an adventure directed by Lesley Selander. The movie also stars Ralph Meeker, J. Carrol Naish, John Carradine, Ron Randell, John Smith and Keith Larsen.
Desert Sands was released on November 18, 1955 by United Artists, based on the 1954 novel Punitive Action by John Robb.
The film centers on a strong force of mounted tribal Arabs that launch a surprise attack on a French Foreign Legion fort in the North African desert, having previously intercepted and brutally massacred a relief column en route to the fort. After an Alamo-type battle, the Arab force capture the fort. From that point it is a battle of survival for the captured The French Foreign Legion members.
